Dear sir

          I am using IC BQ24450 for solar application in which we are observing that the operating temperature would  rise upto +50 degree celcuis , for safety margin we are expecting that same IC would work upto +85 degree celcuis without getting damage. As mentioned in datasheet the max operating conditions has been mentioned upto +150 degree celcuis. Notify me if it would feasible for our use upto +85 degree celcuis. operating range for Our application: -40 to +85 degree celcuis.

    Recommend operating condition is +70C, a temp of +50C would be acceptable for the IC.
    But bq24450 is designed to charge Valve Regulated Lead Acid Battery and the recommended charging temp for this type of battery is 0C to 40C.

    The device has an external pass element that will help to reduce power dissipation on the IC. The pass transistor should be well heat sunk and steps should be taken to prevent heating of the IC from it.

    Dear Sir

             Thanks for your valuable guidance , Is there any battery charger IC same as BQ24450 for charging VRLA lead acid battery but with extended operating temperature rating about -40 degree celcuis to +85 degree celcuis. Suggest any good option for the same.
