Hello,
Customer is currently working on the configuration of the bq40z60 from TI for our next product line and I have a couple of questions concerning the charger part:
1) I noticed the pre-charge feature was not working as expected. I saw this post: http://e2e.ti.com/support/power_management/battery_management/f/180/t/542267 explaining that this feature is broken in current firmware. When can I expect an update that integrate a fix for this feature?
2) We are going to have two different AC adapter with remarkable power differences. Therefore we would need to have different charging current. My idea to do that is to write the current configuration in data memory/Advanced Charge Algorithm dynamically according to which AC adapter is detect by our MCU. I am wondering two things:
a) Is this way of doing, which could imply writing the configuration every time we change of AC adapter (say max 1 per day), could lead to some troubles? Is the charging current guaranteed when configuration is written dynamically? What is the delay we should expect between writing the wanted current in the configuration and actually getting this current?
b) Is there a better way to have two sets of different charging currents?
Thanks.
Best regards
