TPS23861: EEPROM

Part Number: TPS23861

Hi,

We got a question from the customer about TPS23861.
Could you help us?

[Question]
According to datasheet, EEPROM can be written 25 cycles. Is this endurance all field of EEPROM? Or only filed of I2C slave address?

EEPROM has only 8bit which for AUTO and slave address. Is this my understanding correct?

Best Regards,
tateo

  • Hi Tateo,

I have notified our PSE expert to help.

    Thanks,

  • Tateo,

Yes. I think you are correct. The I2C address is stored in the EEPROM and it has limited write cycles. You don't need to configure the I2C address in register 0x11 every time you boot up your system. In the reference we published on ti.com, we read from register 0x11 and see if it the the same as expected, we write to 0x11 register only if the read back value is different from what is expected. Ideally, you only need to change it one time when you run your code at first time. Thanks.

    Best regards,
    Penny
