TPS54202: OUTPUT 0V with EN pin Floating

Hello,

I am using the TPS54202 with VIN = 5V, VOUT = 3.3V, IOUT = 0.6A. I should be always enabled: so I left the EN pin floating, but it is OFF (0V on output) both with load (6 Ohm = 0.6A) and without load.

I tested two boards so I think it is not a matter of misfunctionality of a single device.

I sow that the EN pin is at 0V: I expected to be at a voltage over the threshold thanks to the internal pullup.

And when I connect EN pin to a 20K pullup to an external 1V8 the device start working providing VOUT = 3.3V.

What's wrong on my design?

In datasheet, the description is clear that the device can power up if the EN is floating.
1. double check, TPS54202 is on the board instead other devices. (i know some other pin to pin devices can't support EN floating)
2. Check the input voltage if it is 5V? (if the VIN is lower than 4.4V, the device can't power up)
3. upload the LAYOUT for check

Hi Antonio,

Could you help to double check the version of the TPS54202 you are using. TPS54202 has two version: TPS54202 and TPS54202H. TPS54202 could float EN to enable but TPS54202H could not. I am not sure whether you used TPS54202H instead of TPS54202. Thanks!

Yes that's right!
On my board there is the TPS54202H in place of TPS54202.
