BQ24450: Is the part suitable for +85 degC operation?

Part Number: BQ24450

Need to charge Lead-Acid batteries located near a diesel alternator. Ambient temperatures inside the engine room can be high, around +55 degC.

Please confirm whether the part is suitable, otherwise suggest alternatives. Large quantity requirements are expected.

    Recommend operating condition is +70C, a temp of +55C would be acceptable for the IC. But bq24450 is designed to charge Valve Regulated Lead Acid Battery and the recommended charging temp for this type of battery is 0C to 40C. See Data Sheet Page 15 References.
