BQ78Z100EVM-532: Looking for a simple to use tool for measurement of 1-cell Li-Ion battery capacity

Part Number: BQ78Z100EVM-532
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ27320

Hello,

I am new to battery management techniques, so probably my questions will be a bit naive for this forum.

What I need is a simple to use and non-expensive solution to measure the capacity of 1-cell Li-ion/Li-Polymer batteries.

These batteries I use are supposed to have 40 and 60mAh capacity, but some of them don't seem to charge and overall the capacity seems to be lower than specified.

These are non-brand small batteries so it's no wonder their capacity is low, but what I need is to have a tool  to measure and probably monitor their capacity, and selenct those which are within let's say 70-80% of the specified capacity.

I looked through some evaluation modules by TI such as bq78z100EVM, but overall this solution seems a bit of overkill for my task.

On needs to either select the battery model from the list or to load as a table, but I am not sure the batteries I have will be listed there.

I also couldn't see an example of capacity measurement done by those TI modules.

Can you please help to find a solution?

Thanks!

Karl
