TPS65218: What to do with nWAKEUP of TPS65218 if no Sleep mode needed?

Part Number: TPS65218

I plan to use the TPS65218 to power the AM437x. The system shall be always working if power in is applied. I don’t need the Sleep mode of the AM437x. So I don’t use the DCDC5 and DCDC6.

What do I have to do with the nWAKEUP Pin of the TPS65218? Can I left the Pin unconnected?

  • If the processor will not need to use the nWAKEUP signal then you can leave it floating.

However, if that signal may still be needed and you are not using DCDC5 or DCDC6, there isn't a very good alternative to pull up to since the only other 1.8V rail besides DCDC6 won't turn on until later in the power-up sequence. You could also use DCDC6 just to pull up to even if it isn't powering any rails on the processor.

    Thank you,
    Nick
