TPS51206: DDR4 support

Part Number: TPS51206
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS51200

Hello,

The tolerance for the  Vvttreftol indicates a 1.25% tolerance which is outside of the 1% spec of the DDR3/DDR4.  There is an E2E post

"e2e.ti.com/.../2257148

Indicating that since the current typically isn't 10mA on the VTTREF pin it meets the 1%.. Is this a guarantee from TI that I can use this part for DDR4? Will TI be updating the Datasheet to reflect the different levels of current draw and the tolerances i.e 1mA 1%?

Also can TI propose a different part that does support DDR4 VREF at 1%?

thanks

Adam

  • Hello,

The 1% accuracy at 0.1mA is guarantee by TI, though this spec is not listed on datasheet.

We will conside to update the datasheet in the future.

TPS51200 is another part can be used for DDR4 application. It is with higher current rating.

The REFOUT accuracy is within 1% (+/-12mV) at DDR4 application. This spec is listed on datasheet.

    Thanks
