TPS72325 (???)

I made the mistake of designing in TPS72325 as a negative regulator when I wanted a -5V output, but it's -2.5V in fact.  The data sheet manages to be pretty coy about what the fixed output really is, but I admit it's there if you look hard enough.  However, the Detailed Description / Overview section says "It is offered in trimmed output voltages between -1.5V and -5.2V...;" I can't find anyone that even recognizes what could be the right part number (TPS72350DBVT)?  Is this part available in modest quantities (~250 or so) or only in FoMoCo numbers?

By the way, why does this silly forum engine refuse to accept my entry of this TI part number when I have the TI data sheet in front of me containing that part number?

  • Hi Jeffery,

According to the datasheet, there are only two versions for this device. They are TPS72325 and TPS72301. TPS72301 is the adjustable version and you can set the output from -1.2 to -10V. For your application, you will need to pick up the adjustable version which is TPS72301. You can then set the output voltage through resistors pairs as shown in the datasheet. As far as I am aware, there is no fixed -5V for this device.
