BQ25700A: BQ25700A ACOC Threshold question

Part Number: BQ25700A

Hi, Guys:

As the page27 8.3.9.3 in DATASHEET describe:

If the input current exceeds the 1.25× or 2× (REG0x31[2]) of I LIM2 _VTH (REG0x33[15:11]) set point, converter
stops switching.

But the state in reg0x31 bit3:

0b: Disable ACOC <default at POR>
1b: ACOC threshold 125% or 200% ICRIT

Question: Is the ACOC's reference LIM2_VTH or ICRIT?

Thanks

  • Question 2:
    As DATASHEET described:

    • When REG0x30[14] = 1, charger monitors discharge current. Connect CMPIN to voltage proportional to IBAT
pin. PROCHOT triggers from HIGH to LOW when CMPIN voltage falls below 1.2 V.
    • When REG0x30[13] = 1, charger monitors system voltage. Connect CMPIN to voltage proportional to system.
PROCHOT triggers from HIGH to LOW when CMPIN voltage rises above 1.2 V.

Question2: Low Power Mode, when the discharge current greaten, IBAT voltage get bigger. We hope that when IBAT voltage get to a certain extent, it will trigger PROCHOT to become Low. But it is different from the DATASHEET described (PROCHOT triggers the from HIGH to Low, the when CMPIN voltage falls below 1.2 V). For the same problem with VSYS, we hope to trigger the PROCHOT to low. It is just opposite against the DATASHEET description. Why is that?
  • Question 1: the ACOC's reference LIM2_VTH.
Question 2: Yes. They are opposite. Customer can program the comparator polarity to control falls below or rises above 1.2V.
