On the LM5050-1, what would be the minimum VGS at VIN=10.5 volts?

    Hi Carl,

    Minimum Vgs specified in the datasheet is 4V, but for a particular applcation, Vgs seen would be dependent on load current.

    If load current is lower, then Vgs would be close to Vt of the mosfet. As load current increases, it will increase Vgs to reduse the Rdson of MOSFET so that I_load * Rdson = 22mV forward regulation.

    This is due to the linear regulation of the source-drain forward volatge of 22mV.
