BQ40Z50-R2: Power Config: SLP_ACCUM (Bit 8): Enables charge accumulation while in SLEEP mode

Part Number: BQ40Z50-R2

Hi there,

Can someone please help on illustrate more about "charge accumulation while in sleep mode" and its impact?

Thanks a lot!

Daniel Yu

  • Hi Daniel,

When the gauge is in sleep mode it wakes up every <Sleep Current Time> in seconds to measure the current vs every second in normal mode. The current measured is used to calculate the accumulated charge every second. The SLP_ACCUM bit enables or disables the calculation of charge accumulation during sleep. Disabling this calculation cause SOC error due to missed coulomb counting, if the gauge is in sleep mode for extended periods.
