Hello,

We are planning to use the BQ34Z100PWR-G1 instead of the BQ2012SN-D107TR, now we need your help to get the following information for us to re-design the circuit diagram.

We original use TI# BQ2012SN-D107TR + 6 Panasonic Ni-MH #HHR-210A (please see attached photo), now change to use TI# BQ34Z100PWR-G1 + 6 Panasonic Ni-MH #HHR-210A (please see attached photo), because BQ34z100 support different battery and section number, therefore we must set up IC flash, please request TI dealer supply 6 Panasonic Ni-MH #HHR-210A setting parameters and BQ34z100 develop version.
Please inquire TI (FAE: Field Application Engineer), if change to use BQ34Z100PWR-G1, how to design circuit diagram ?

Hi Patrick,

You can find an application schematic for the part in section 8 of the Datasheet. As for setting up the part, assuming you have a bq34z100EVM and EV2300/EV2400, here is a quick 'getting started' with the bq34z100-G1.

Bq34z100-G1 Quick Start Guide:

1. Skim the Datasheet (http://www.ti.com/lit/slusbz5)
2. Follow the Steps in the EVM User Guide to learn about bqStudio and the EVM (http://www.ti.com/lit/sluu904)
a. By the end of the EVM User Guide, you should have:
      i. installed bqStudio (http://www.ti.com/tool/BQSTUDIO)
      ii. Updated firmware and software
      iii. Learned how to read and write to registers on the EVM with bqStudio and the EV2300/EV2400
3. Read the Datasheet (http://www.ti.com/lit/slusbz5)
  a. Follow the steps 1-8 in section 8.2.2.1 to set up and configure your device
       1. Review and modify the data flash configuration data
       2. Review and modify the data flash configuration registers
       3. Design and configure the voltage divder
       4. Determine the sense resistor value
       5. Review and modify the data flash gas gauging configuration, data, and state
       6. Determine and program the Chemical ID
       7. Calibrate
8. Run an optimization cycle
b. Note: This process will take a few days
