TPS40210: Feed-back input without supply voltage on VDD

Part Number: TPS40210

Hi,

Our customer has a question about the TPS40210.

In their system, the TPS40210 is sometimes signaled on the FB pin without supply voltage on the VDD pin.

In this case, does the device get damaged?

Thank you in advance.

Best regards,

Takishin

  • Hi Takishin,

Just to clarify the condition that you are talking about is if the VDD pin has no voltage but the FB pin as a voltage present? Is that correct?

Assuming that this is correct, the FB pin can have a voltage while the VDD pins is not powered. As long as the FB pin is not exceeding the specified absolute maximum voltages then there should be no damage to the TPS40210.

    Thanks,

    Garrett

  • Hello Garrett,

    Thank you for your answer.

    Yes, it is.
    I understand.
I'll report it to the customer.

    Best regards,
    Takishin
