BQ24195: Input And SYS output

Part Number: BQ24195

Hello,

Is there need of that input mosfets (Q1,Q2 & Q3) used for VBUS, OTG. If I am using 5v constant input voltage ( From adapter )to charge the battery.

Can I use the SYS output directly to my system as 3.3v or I should give to the LDO input ( for 3.3v output ).

hope i will get Ans.

Thank You....

  • Hello,

The integrated Q1, Q2, Q3 FETs are necessary for the operation of the device both in charge mode (buck) and OTG(boost).

Q1 FET provides reverse blocking protection and is used for internal input current sensing. Q2 and Q3 form together the switching converter where, depending on the operating mode, are operated in buck or boost mode.

The SYS voltage ranges from MINSYS (set to default to 3.5V) to the battery regulation voltage. If the application system needs 3.3V for normal operation, an additional power stage on SYS is needed to provide the 3.3V rail.
