V/I programmable charger for Lithium batteries

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ24230, BQ25120A

hi all,

I'm looking for a battery charger with the specs:

- Lithium chemistry.

- 1 cell

- Charging current from 40mA to 500mA or more, settable from I2C.

- Battery voltace settable from I2C from 3,5V

- QFN package (non BGA-like packages)

the apps is for conditioning the batteries on the stock.

For current we don't need fine regulation. The most important that we can start with about 40mA.

I found the BQ2477x family but I dread this is a giant for the app, so looking for a better alternative / advice

thanks a lot in advance

KR

  • Hello Vincenzo,
The BQ25120A is the only !2C device we currently have on the linear charger team. It can charge up to 300mA but it only comes in the DSBGA package. The bq24230 and BQ2407x can charge up to 500mA and 1.5A respectively and both are QFN. However, they don't have any I2C communication.
