BQ34Z100-G1: Basic problems with bqstudio

When I connect to the BQ34Z100-G1 with bqstudio (1.4.54.1), everything seems OK.

First, I want to change TEMPS in the configuration register and that is shown as read-only. I have reprogrammed the part just to make sure that previous operations have not caused problems, but it remains unchanged. What am I doing wrong?

Also, after setting the number of serial cells (NiMH) to 4, when I enter the voltage to calibrate to 5478 and press [Calibrate], I get the message "Calibration cell voltage is out of range..." Again, what am I doing wrong?

Hi David,

Please upgrade to the latest and greatest version of bqStudio (v.1.3.80 build 1): www.ti.com/.../BQSTUDIO

There is a known issue with the calibration screen with your version of bqStudio and the bq34z100-g1. A fresh install of the newest version is the quickest path to remediation.

Please let me know if any other issues crop up or persist after the fresh install of bqStudio.

When I go to the link you provided, my choices are v1.3.54.1 (what I was using) or v1.3.80 Build 1. I see that is listed above on the web page, but the e-mail I got referenced v1.3.76 build 3. Weird! Well, I'll try 1.3.80... Be back later.

This resolved the issue of calibrating. However, the configuration registers are still tagged as Read-only. Is this the way it should be?

Also, can you point me to the procedure to get a log that is to be submitted to the CHEMID program? (It seems I can never find anything twice!)

I have been able to select registers for the Watch window and that seems to be working. However, I am unable to save anything to a log file. I click on Save snapshot or up on the register screen click on the start log button and then enter a log name. Nothing is saved to disk - not even the file name.

As for the log files: please try running as administrator and/or changing the directory to which you are attempting to save the files.
