BQ27520-G4: question about the result of GPC tool

Part Number: BQ27520-G4

Hi,

One of my customer is involved in the development of fuel gauge software, and he has the following questions.

After extracting the test data using the new battery cell (attached BAK_V525376ARJ.zip),
As a result of using TI GPC Web service (attached BAK_V525376ARJ_EF500-report.zip),
It is as follows.

Best chemical ID : 1462         Best chemical ID max. deviation, % : 1.08

The new cell they are using is 3100mAh / Li-on. The recommended Chemistry ID is 4200mAh / LiMn.
They just want to know if they can use this ID.

thanks,

  • Hi TS,
Yes they can use that chem id. The gauge compares the OCV measurements to determine if it is a match. Now when you perform a learning cycle, the gauge will learn the actual capacity of your own battery and the resistance table.
    thanks
