LP8860-Q1: EEPROM programming specification and schematics

Guru 20090 points
Part Number: LP8860-Q1

Hello,

Could you please let me know the EEPROM re-programming specification and schematics?

Since our customer would like to LP8860-Q1 with non-default EEPROM value, we would like to re-program the device and then we deliver the device to the customer.
Thus , I would like to know the EEPROM re-programming method(schematics for re-programming, specification, sequence of programming etc....).

Best Regards,
Ryuji

  • Hi Ryuji-san,

Most of info how to re-program EEPROM of LP8860-Q1 is shown in datasheet, but you can also refer to attached apps note for simple summary.

    Hope this works for you.SNVA797_LP8860-Q1_endofline_EEPROM_101117.pdf

  • Hello Sung san,

    I appreciate your help.
Your attached file is NDA file. Are there non-NDA file?

Also, could you please share the schematics for EEPROM re-programming?
Our customer is not re-programming in their system.
We re-programming the device and then we shipped the device.
Thus, we would like to made simple board for re-programming.

    My understanding is the following.
    Is my understanding correct?
Can we left floating "?" pins in the following?
    ---
Left Floating: C1P, C1N, SQW, ISET, TSENSE, FILTER, FAULT, MISO, OUT4, OUT3, OUT2, OUT1, SD
    Power supply: VDD
GND: SGND, SYNC, VSYNC, PWM, LGND, ISENSE_GND, PGND
    I2C or SPI connect: MOSI/SDA, SCLK/SCL
    Select: NSS, IF
    Enable supply: VDDIO/EN
    ? : VSENSE_N, VSENSE_P , FB, ISENSE, GD, CPUMP
    ---

    Best Regards,
    Ryuji
  • Hi Ryuji-san,

The file is not officially published yet, so we need to refine NDA stuff, but this info is already available in datasheet, so it's not supposed to be NDA restricted.

I'm working with tech writer to publish this to TI.com, but you can use existing one I attached for now.

For schematic for EEPROM re-programming, LP8860 just need standard I2C I/F(or SPI) to access/program EEPROM, so SDA and SCL will need 2kohm ~ 10kohm pull up resistor connection to VDDIO/EN. There is nothing special other than this. For sure, you will need VDD and VDDIO/EN high level and GND connection for I2C access.

Connections for all other pins won't matter.

Please send me an email if you have further questions.

    Hope this helps,
