I understand that after the battery reaches its destination voltage (4200mV in my case), this charger IC stops charging and will only resume when battery voltage drops 200mV below destination.
This period is referred to in the manual as "Maintenance Mode".
This behavior imposes a serious limitation on my device, since it implies that after leaving the device connected to the charger for a long period of time, the battery voltage can be as low as 4000mV (which is rather low for my needs).
I was wondering if I could "force" the IC to exit "Maintenance Mode" by toggling (writing '1', then '0') to the EN_B pin. However, I couldn't understand from the spec whether this would work.
Questions:
1. Will this solution work?
2. If not, is there any other way to "force" the IC to exit Maintenance Mode?
3. If not, are there any other charging similar charging IC's who restart the charging sooner (say 100mV under their destination)?
Thanks in advance!
