LM2623: Can you help check if our LM2623 can be best fit device to beat ETA1611 solution?

Part Number: LM2623
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS61086

Hi Team,

My customer now is looking for Super cap boost to 12V/200mA solution. And now ETA already give them their solution as below:

1. Input request is 2.7V from super cap;

2. Out request is, 12V Iload=200mA;

3. Low cost;

We found that LM2623 may be one solution, but need your help to check if it is ok and if you can share with me a reference circuit for this request? Another question is for the output cap, can customer just use ceramic capacitor for lower cost?

Best regards,

Sulyn Zhang

  • Hi Sulyn,

    What is the minimum input voltage?
    I use webench and find TPS61086 is a good choice and customer can use ceramic capacitors as the output caps.
    LM2623 has no webench models now. I'll look at it if you prefer to choose LM2623.

    Regards,
    Zack
  • Hi Zack,

    Thanks for the support! Agree that the TPS61086 may be a good choice, the minimum voltage may low to 1.8/1.6V, but it's better than ETA part. I will check with customer about this and let you know the prefer, thanks!

    Best regards,
