BQ34Z100-G1: GPC optimization issue - Error: negative low temperature resistance

Part Number: BQ34Z100-G1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: GPCCHEM

Hi All,

We are facing one issue using GPC, for room and low temp optimization.
We get the following error :
Error: negative low temperature resistance observed, R=-16.1300087673119 usually caused by wrong chem ID selection

The chemID selection sounds not to be the problem as our cell Manufacturer and type is listed on the ChemID selection list. (I also tried some other without success).

I cross-checked the files again but was not able to determine where the issue come from.
We carefully followed the guide for file preparation.
Data curve looks corrects
Is there anything I should look at to be the cause of this error, or is any TI staff to review my package ?
Thanks in advance
Kevin

  • Hi Kevin,

Could you please run a learning cycle for the GPCCHEM tool and send us the report?

An incorrect chemID can be the root of all errors, so it is best to cross it out first.

    Sincerely,
    Bryan Kahler
  • Hi Bryan,

I will prepare the package and use GPCCHEM to validate the ID selection.

    I'am thinking about a point :

    - Due to our pack capacirty, we are using a scaling factor on current measurement. All the data collection have been made using the device IC, and data show real values (ie translated using the scale factor). The scale factor is mentionned on the GG file but could you please confirm if this parameter is taken in account by GPC ?

    Thanks

    Best regards

    Benoît

  • Hi Benoît,

Great question! This parameter is not taken into account by GPC and will need to be adjusted in your log file.

    Sincerely,
    Bryan Kahler

  • Hi Bryan,

    Sorry for the delay.
I carried chem ID selection using GPC.

The closest Chim ID found by the tool is different from the one I used so far (at least, it's the same lithium chemistry).

As per what we discussed, I corrected my data table with the scaling factor and changed the chem ID on the config file.

I'm still facing the same error :
    - Error: negative low temperature resistance observed, R=-31.4860408625004 usually caused by wrong chem ID selection

    At this point, I'am stuck.

    Any help is appreciated !
