BQ24190: in case pre-charging is too long

Part Number: BQ24190

Hello

Please let me additional question from my customer .

My Customer had additional question as following.

"If Pre-charge takes too long time and bq24190 does not enter Fast-charge ,

bq24190 recognize that this is the bad bettery , and stop charging, indicates to MCU. Is it correct? "

I will recommend customer as following, but I am not sure because I did not test by myself.

Would you please advise?

~~~~~~~~~~~
Yes.
In the data sheet page21, we see ' The safety timer is 1 hour when the battery is below BATLOWV threshold'....(*)
So, bq24190 could detect bad -battery if pre-charging is too long = 1 hr (TYP)... note that not specified (min) and (max).
We can not see '1 hr ' description in REG05[2:1] , so 1hr could not be changed , but bq24190 stop charging and
REG09[5:4] indicates Charge Safety Timer Expiration .
(*)
The safety timer is 1 hour when the battery is below BATLOWV threshold. The user can program fast charge
safety timer through I2C (REG05[2:1]). When safety timer expires, the fault register REG09[5:4] goes 11 and an
INT is asserted to the host. The safety timer feature can be disabled via I2C (REG05[3]).
Is above correct? How do you think about ?
Please advise.
