TPS659037: worst ADC conversion time

Part Number: TPS659037

Hi,

It is a question about GPADC of PMIC (TPS 6590376).
Conversion time is listed the following in the data sheet, but what is the worst conversion time?
12-Bit Sigma-Delta ADC Characteristics

Best Regards,
Shigehiro Tsuda

  • Tsuda-san,
I expect that the conversion time will depend on various factors including number of channels to be monitored, if Asynchronous or Periodic Request is used, etc.
You could also use the GPADC_EOC_SW interrupt to notify the controller about newly available conversion data.
I also suggest to take a look at the referenced document www.ti.com/.../SLIA087 for GPADC-use.
I'll also loop in our application engineer for further advice, but he is currently out of office, so please expect some delay until after Christmas.
    Best regards,
    Frank
  • Hi Frank,

    Thank you for quick reply.

I will check the document of your advice.
I will  wait for your application engineer's answer after Christmas holidays.

    Best Regards,
    Shigehiro Tsuda

  • Hello Tsuda-san,

The typical conversions times are listed in the datasheet as you mentioned. This time is based on an internal RC oscillator which is 15% accurate (not specified, but based on test data). So you can use the typical times +/- 15% to get the variation of the GPADC conversion times.

Note that there is an EXTEND_DELAY bit which can increase the conversion time per the datasheet spec.

    Regards,
    Karl
  • Hi Karl,

Sorry, because Japan was a New Year holidays last week, I was late replying.
I understand that it is ± 15% times to get the variation of the GPADC conversion times
