I've read in several app notes about the importance of power handling capability for a SEPIC coupling capacitor, but can't find any guidance on selecting the capacitance value. I've seen values between 0.47-10uF in several designs.
What does TI recommend?

Check out the link to a recent TI SEPIC design. In the design guide section there are a lot of good SEPIC equations, including for the coupling capacitor value. I hope that helps!
