Hello

I am an educator work with a non-profit in India and work with low income community rural kids on basic DIY science. I am currently exploring electric free flight models and they use a Peterborough FET timer as given here: http://peterboroughmfc.org/technical-articles/web_site_FETtimer.htm.

It uses a 1/8 W resistor with 16V 47uF tantalum capacitor and STD12NF06L mosfet. Since I do not know electronics, I have not been able to interpret its data sheet or find a substitute mosfet in India. Please help me find a substitute fet for it.

Does TI have any equivalent product for this fet and can I be get some free samples?

Ashutosh,
Unfortunately we do not have a pin to pin replacement to this ST device, it is a 60V, 90mOhm MOSFET in an IPAK package.
We have lower resistance MOSFETs that may work and are in a larger through hole type package call the TO-220, one suggestion would be the CSD18534KCS. I see however this is out of TI Store stock, another part that may also work would be the CSD18533KCS which I see is in stock.

I see that the Id value is significantly larger for these TI mosfets and dimensions are bigger too. Since i will be using these in an aircraft model, the weight is a very important factor. How can I find out the exact weight of these fets? Also is there a place to check the weights of fets in general?
