Dear all,

for PMID cap, what is its minimum vale recommendation? also, if using smaller PMID, any other concerns except the large input voltage ripple?

    HI John,

    The minimum recommended PMID capacitor is 8.2uF ceramic after derating for voltage. For example, two 16-V rated 4.7uF in parallel will likely derate to 8.2uF at 5V bias. The total capacitance at VBUS + PMID should be less than 10uF in order to be compliant with USB BC 1.2 specification.
