TPS65950 IDCODE

We have read the TPS65950 IDCODE register and following values are read

IDCODE_31_24 : 0x10
IDCODE_23_16 : 0x09
IDCODE_15_8 : 0x00
IDCODE_7_0 : 0x2F

Based on the above read values, the IDCODE is 0x1009002F. The datasheet specifies the IDCODE is 0x0009802F for TPS65950. Can you clarify

I am guessing your read values are from I2C interface.

Some fields cannot be read correctly via I2C, you need JTAG interface to read it correctly. I think you would be interested in checking the fields 31:28 for the revision number and these can be read using the I2C interface.

Hi,

The IDCODE_31_24 Read value is 0x10. Can you provide the silicon version of the device?. The datasheet specifies silicon revision 0x00 for 1.0

Can you confirm this is silicon revision of TPS65950 device released currently. The datasheet specifies only silicon revision 1.0?

ES1.0 silicon version will read 0x00

ES1.1 silicon version will read 0x10

TRM document does not have ES1.1 included in the table. We will update doument for this.

is there any update on the ES1.1 silicon? Is there a chance we could have a brief update on what the changes are between ES1.0 and ES1.1?

Hi David,

ES1.1 is the latest silicon version. There are no functional changes from ES1.0 to ES1.1.
