Please explain what and why is optional for output discharge function?

    Hi,

    the output discharge function, ensure that Vout goes down 0V when the device is disabled after being in operation.
    I need to check with our system engineer why it is written "optional" and will get back to you.

    Hi Eli,

    Happy New Year

    We can turn the discharge function on or off by an internal EEPROM setting. However, we only released the versions where the discharge is turned off per page 3 of the data sheet.

    If the business case justifies it we can release a new version with the discharge function ON.
