Hi,

We are using BQ25120 in our design which is very close to the production start. Just a few days ago our test group found the following problem:

BQ25120A will not charge a battery locked by PCM (over discharged protection), however it will charge properly if the battery is not discharged (over 3V).

Is it mandatory to replaced BQ25120 with BQ25120A to get this issue solved? Or is any known work around?

Unfortunately we have already built a good number of boards

BQ25120A will fix this issue and recommended for your future builds.

What is the capacitance on the VBAT pin on the device side (not on battery side)? in the past, we have seen that when the PCM opens, the voltage on the device side falls fairly quickly to under 0.2V which is safe.

Also what is the slew on the VIN side? (0-5V)

Hi,

OK, I will build the next batch of boards with BQ25120A.

Is any work around fr my current boards using BQ25120?

I'm planning to try to enter "ship mode" as soon as the battery is getting closer to 3V ( e.g. 3.2V - 3.3V).
