UCD9222: I received notice that UCD9222RGZR and UCD9222RGZT are now NRND. The TI suggested replacement is the UCD9224 series but it is not pin compatible. Is the UCD9222WRGZREP good replacement?

We received notice that the UCD9222RGZR and UCD9222RGZT are now NRND. The TI suggested replacement is the UCD9224 series but it is not pin compatible. Is the UCD9222WRGZREP a form fit and compatible replacement for UCD9222RGZR or UCD9222RGZT?

UCD9222 supports PVID. UCD9224 does not support PVID. If you need PVID support, the suggested replacement is LM10011 (VID programmer) plus a discrete POL device.

Hi, you did not answer the question. Is the device UCD9222-EP form-fit-compatible with UCD9222 device? I looked at the datasheet and they have same footprint and package. I am wondering why you do not suggest that component UCD9222-EP as replacement.

Yes. UCD9222-EP is pin-compatible.

So if the UCD9222-EP is form-fit-compatible with UCD9222, why it is not suggested as a replacement? TI proposed instead the UCD9224 which is not pin compatible with UCD9222.
