EV2300: 3.1c firmware update

Part Number: EV2300

I would need another TI EV2300 module in order to update my current module which runs old 3.1c firmware. Within the current state the EV2300 cannot detect BQ28Z610 after doing srec programming.

The Email Technical Support / Americas Customer Support Center asked me to resolve this at the e2e forum.

  • Hi Tommi,

I will send you an invite to discuss the path forward offline.

    thanks

  • Onyx,

Hello, I am having the same general issue here with my EV2300(also the same fuel guage IC), my company just purchased a 2nd EV2300 but we still can't update firmware, can you please get in contact with me as well?

I wrote a thorough overlook of what is going on but it is waiting approval currently.
  • Hi Reed,

The path forward is to obtain a second ev2300 and then perform the update using the second one. Since you already have a 2nd ev2300,  What issue are you facing performing the update? Are you following the instructions detailed in the updaters? Are you running the files as an administrator and make sure you don't have an instance of bqstudio or bqEVSW running when trying to perform the update.

    thanks

  • Thank you for the reply, but the issue finally was figured out. I had collected all the right pieces but didn't do one final reboot to get the drivers in the right place. e2e.ti.com/.../2408276

I am curious what TI's policy is on shipping things out with the latest firmware? 3.1c is what was shipped to me on both EV2300 pods, yet it has crippling bugs when used with the BQ28Z610DRZR. The EV2300 is listed as being just as compatible as the EV2400, yet the EV2300 needs a firmware update that cannot be done with a single EV2300.

There currently is a very loose paper trail between figuring out it needs the update, how to do the update(then learning you need a 2nd EV2300), and the update files themselves. None of which show up on http://www.ti.com/tool/EV2300
