TPS55340 : About reference document for Constant Current and Flyback solution

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS55340

Customer want to use Flyback and Constant Current (CC) control for TPS55340.

If there reference design or application note for Constant Current of Flyback, please let me know.

Vin: 5V or 12V, Vout: 24V/100mA (plan to addition CC control Vout: 12V, 5V, and 3.3V)

⇒Is there more recommended device than TPS55340?

※E2E posted with no parts number.

Because when selected TPS55340, "select a forum" was only non-isolated DC/DC forum.

Best regards,

Satoshi

  • TPS55340 can be used in the flyback topology. Please check the TI user guide:  SLVU751A

By the way, what does '(plan to addition CC control Vout: 12V, 5V, and 3.3V)'   mean?  is it means the maximum output current be limited below 100mA, once higher than 100mA, the output volatge will drop? is it means has three outputs, which are 12V, 5V, 3.3V?

    Thank you for reply,

    I answer about Vout: 24V, 12V, 5V, and 3.3V.
It is a single power line, Vout is switched by external control signal.
But these Vout are also need Constant Current control. (If input power is not enough, drop is not Iout but Vout)

    Set anew, customer request is below;
    ・Vin: 5V or 12V
    ・Vout: 24V or 12V or 5V or 3.3V
※Vout is switched by external control signal.
・Iout: 100mA constant current (in each case of Vout)

Is there any document for designing Constant Current circuit?

    Best regards,
    Satoshi

  • By the way, could you please send the application information to us, like the end equipment, volume? we want to study the marketing requirement. my email address is : helen-chen@ti.com
