Hi there,
My customer is having some issue with TPS54200 where he observed that TPS54200 shut down after 3-5 minutes of operation.
The test conditions are listed below:
- Vin = 24V
- Iout = 1.3A
- LED = 2S IR LED
The customer also found that doing the actions below could solve this issue:
- Change Vin to 12V while the rest are unchanged
- Keep Vin at 24V but change R21 and C1 in the picture below to the values as the EVM (910 ohm & 82 nF)
Could you please help to clarify the questions below?
1. According to the datasheet, RF and CF need to be selected based on the pole frequency at 2 kHz. (Which was not considered in the attached schematic)
Do you think this has something to do with the phenomenon? Like the system is unstable? (However, it didn't happen when Vin was 12V)
2. We're also suspecting that the output current might have reached the current limit threshold since the duty cycle is smaller when Vin is 24V.
Could you please provide your idea on this? What else do we need to verify to figure out the cause?
Thank you!
Best regards,
Roy Hsu
