BQ40Z50-R1: Chem ID for Different Version of Same Cell Part Number

Part Number: BQ40Z50-R1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: GPCCHEM, BQSTUDIO

Hi Team,

My customer is using Samsung cell INR18650-29E. BQStudio shows Chem ID #2019 for that PN, but it shows 2850mAh and my customer's cell is 2750mAh. Is it safe to say that as long as they program the correct design capacity this is the Chem ID they should use? Or since their cell is a different capacity (with the same PN), would they need to run GPCCHEM?

Thanks,

Antonio

  • Update: Customer tried using this ChemID and programmed their actual capacity, but there is a 10% delta between actual SOC and the one shown by BQStudio. Could this be due to an incorrect DF parameter, or would they need to use a different ChemID?
  • Hi Antonio,

As you suspected, please run the GPCCHEM tool and use the chemID provided by the tool.

If the chemID given by GPCCHEM is the same as currently being used, and the issues persists, please send us the GG file and a log of the 10% delta between SoC and actual for further analysis.

    Thanks!

    Sincerely,
    Bryan Kahler
