BQ51050B consumption with no WPC transmiter

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ51050B

Hi!

I would like to know the value of the current flowing from the battery into the IC thru the BAT pin when there is no WPC transmitter present.

In the BQ51050B datasheet appears the Quiescent current is 20μA MAX, but I'm not sure if this is the same value I'm searching for (because description says "wireless power is disabled", not "wireless transmitter not present").

I expect this current to be as low as possible, in order to avoid discharging the battery unnecessary (if the application is in stand-by mode). And unfortunately 20μA is unacceptable for my application (it should be less than 1μA).

Thanks!

  • Hello

This is the correct value (20uA max).

I think we have some circuits that add an external mosfet to disconnect the battery when voltage a RECT pin is not present. This will get to the 1uA range you are looking for.
