TLV62565: TLV62565 Ripple

Part Number: TLV62565
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2541,

At present, customers use CC2541 to make Bluetooth Mouse and power dc / dc to TLV62565. However, Ripple will interfere with the RF problem (voltage Ripple is about 55.6mV). How can I improve it?
PS: Use Power Supply input to the CC2541 is no problem

  • Hello Allan,

thanks for getting in contact with us on E2E.

In a SMPS you can decrease the ripple by changing the output filter section. In our datasheet we recommend inductors-capacitors combinations for this purpose, as in the table below.

In your case, I would recommend to increase the output cap to 47 uF effective capacitance, that means that this is the value of capacitance after considering the DC voltage and temperature derating of the specific application.

For example: with a Vout=3.3V one could end up to use 100uF capacitor with X5R dielectric and rated for 6.3 VDC, because after applying the derating the effective capacitance value will be around the wanted 47uF. I must repeat, this is just an example case. You still need to apply the specific capacitor's effects.

For any other question, do not hesitate to ask.
