Hi,

We have created the golden image files for the fuel gauge with the battery used in the system.

We need a clarification on the BAT_LOW/BAT_GD pin configuration. We would like to use the Pin 12 as BAT_GD and the polarity we wanted for the pin is Low. So we have set the LSB byte of the OP Config register as B (GPOUT_POL=1, GPOUT_INT=0, BAT_FN=1, TEMPS =1), But we have seen BAT_GD going only Low only if we write the GPOUT_POL bit as 0. But using the bqeasy (0.9.92 version) tool we are not getting an option to make that bit as 0. Can you please let us know how do we set the bit.

Hi Ravi,

After you make changes to the data flash, you need to send a reset (0x41) command to ensure the parameters get updated in RAM. Try that and lets see if that resolves your issue.

Hi Onyx,

Once the Golden image is loaded we are resetting the gauge by sending 0x41 command. But the bit doesn't get cleared.

Hello Ravi,
Can you use bqstudio instead. I started an instance of the tool for the bq27510-G3 and i see the GPOUT_POL and it has the option of setting the flag.

Thanks. Is there a difference between the functionality of BAT_GD pin in G2 and G3 versions.

Thanks for the clarification.

I have created the Golden file from bqEVSW 0.9.92 and i have to change the Opconfig bit as mentioned above to 8973 (which i have done using bqstudio). Now we have transfer the golden file to production.

Can i use the Bqstudio to create the golden image in .srec format and give it to production or i have to create all the files (.srec, .bq.fs, .df.fs) and load all of them in production line.

Sorry for the delayed follow up. I was out on vacation.
Yes you can use bqstudio to create the srec file. You just need one of the files, either srec, bqfs or dffs for the production line.
