I have calibrated and created data memory parameters set.Those parameters are write to memory by host uC during production process. It works fine in most of me devices. But in few devs something went wrong during memory write. Now in flash there is a some strange data and memory is block. I try many time memory write procedure from my uC and even from Batery Mangement Studio (by EV2400) and memory not response. After write data to DataBlock (from 0x40) and write checkSum to 0x60 I read back memory and it is not changed.

hi,
Your programming of the device via your host must have had something amiss that caused the device to have wrong data. Have you looked at our gauge communication app note to ensure that you are following the right procedure when programming the device?

have you tried using bqstudio to program the guage as that will ensure it is programmed correctly without any thing amiss.

thx for you answer. my answers are yes and yes :)

I do programming exactly like in this document. My host firmware is able to program other devices, but few several pieces are blocked. I tried program them with bqstudio, but this also fail.

Hi,
When you connect this device with bqstudio are you able to communicate with them.? If so pls sent a screen shot of the register screen.

If you are unable to communicate, then you have to replace the ic. The file you are using to program the chips, how did you extract it? Did you extract using bqstudio and ev2300? if ev2300, what firmware version is on your ev2300?

Hi,

Yes I can communicate with BQ by bqstudio or by my firmware. I can read and write registers. When I write (using select flash block procedure) to the data memory I can even read back same data. But after seal/unseal cycle memory in unchanged. Same history with bqstudio :(

so.. memory is blocked.

IF you seal the gauge once, you can never go back to a permanently unseal state. You can only program the default srec go back to that state. you need to be in an unseal and full access mode of operation to fully access the device data flash

hi,

thx. Of course I unseal device every time i try program, and check seal state in control status, and it is in FULL ACCESS. Still I can't write flash.

Hi Piko,
Your INV_chksum flag is set. This means you haven't configured the checksum for your protector correctly. see section 2.2.2.1 of the TRM of the device. You need to send the PROTECTOR_CHKSUM command and the value that is returned will be the actual check sum. The MSB will be 1, so the result of what is written back is what you will program in the protection check sum field of data flash but without the MSB value.

Ok. I did it. And I read back same value, witch I was going to write to memory (0x09), but like I wrote earlier, I can't write anything to flash.

I will probably give up this topic. It was just two pieces of device, so it is waste of time.

It would be best to reprogram the default srec on the device and then program your gg file back on that has the correct settings including the check sum.
