LM3410-Q1: lm3410, pwm, freq

Hi~

Customer uses LM3410X for 7" backlight application.

Based on datasheet(Fig.4), it looks cover up to 20kHz dimming frequency, but actually, customer board can't dim operation with that frequency.

When change PWM dim freq to 300Hz, looks pwm dimming operation well but it has large input ripple current, so now trying to change.

Please, let me know available PWM dimming freq range.(Fig.4 validation)

    Hello,

    It is capable of 20kHz dimming, but it depends on the application. For example, if you have a large amount of output capacitance then the LED current will barely drop during the off time when you start PWM dimming. So it isn't likely to work well at all. The output capacitance needs to be low enough for the LED current to slew up and down fully during the PWM cycle.
