BQ25703A: bq25703A / IADPT, IBAT and PSYS pin output

Hi,

Please let me ask about IADPT, IBAT and PSYS pin output.

I can see the output from these pins when the Vbus is connected. But these output is turned off after Vbus is disconnected as attached. Do these output is active at only Vbus is connected?

Hi Satoshi,

IADPT pin is only available when VBUS is connected.

IBAT and PSYS are both default off when battery only condition to minimize the quiescent current. You can enable PSYS by REG0x31[4], and enable IBAT by REG0x31[7].

Actually I set these registers but PSYS and IBAT pin output turned off after Vbus disconnected. Please see attached setting and waveform again. Can you confirm this on your bench?

Hi Satoshi,

At battery only condition, if you would like to still use IBAT and PSYS functions, you have to make sure the low power mode is disabled, REG0x01[7]=0. Otherwise, the IBAT and PSYS is always off regardless of the REG0x31[7] and REG0x31[4] settings.

Thank you for your advice. After disabling lo power mode, the IBAT and PSYS pin output stay to active without VBUS as attached. Let me close this question.
