TPS562208: vs TPS562209

Part Number: TPS562208

What is the difference between the TPS56x208 and TPS56x209? (other than a small difference in frequency and quiescent current) One says forced PWM, but they both say continuous conduction mode. I will be operating between 100 and 300mA, and I would like to keep ripple low, but I don't understand the difference between these devices.

  • Hi Mike,

These two parts are pin to pin with each other and their working condition are the same. The difference is on their performance and cost. TPS56x209 is high performance part with higher cost. Its Rdson is small and switching frequency is higher. Also TPS56x209 has 1% FB accuracy. In contrary, TPS56x208 is more cost effective but the performance is not as good as TPS56x209. They are using in the same application but target on different customers.
