WEBENCH® Tools/TPS54824: The gain margin of TPS54824

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

I simulated TPS54824 using Webench under VIn=10.9~14V, Vout=10.5V, Iout=5A and Ta=90℃.

But the Gain Margin was displayed red like attached document.

I think because the gain margin is lack.

Is this understanding correct?

If this is correct, what is the threshold of this?

Yokota-san,

That design looks to not be stable. Looking closer at the Webench design, it looks to have an error in the calculations. Let me investigate this further and get back to you.

Hi Yokota-san,

As John said, there is some error in the compensation selection for this specific scenario and we are looking into this. For now, to get a good design, you can use the Re-Comp tab to change the compensation. I suggest changing the minimum Phase Margin to 60 degrees and the maximum Gain margin to -20 dB.

We have updated WEBENCH and now the compensation selection is much better for this case.
