BQ28Z610: Firmware version

Part Number: BQ28Z610
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQSTUDIO

Hello,

some weeks ago I dowloaded the version 0.19_build24 from the BQ28Z610 web page.

the package also contains the configuration file for bqStudio, as usual.

I have 3 questions:

  1. today I am not able to retrieve the version 0.19 from web page. Has it been withdrown because it has some problem?
  2. referring to the version 0.19, in the bqStudio some new commands appear but there are no documentation about them. Such new commands are: SMOOTH_SYNC, MFC_ENABLE_A ( and _B) and MFC_DISABLE.
  3. I have currently prepared the golden image using the FW version 0.19. Can I go in manufacturing with that golden image?

Thanks for a quick reply

  • 1. Yes, we found an issue and withdrew the fw to fix it
    2. those commands are not present in v0.17, they relate to a multi functional feature added to fw that is not available for now
    3. you can revert to v0.17 and use that for production or wait until we issue a fix with a newer version whose eta is indeterminate for now
  • Thanks Batt

forgive the delay but Iprepared the new golden fw and then I was  was involved in manufacturing.

one last info: I used the .gg file from a device whose learning cycle has done with v0.19. I've made the necessary changes in the list of data flash parameters (v0.19 lacks one from v0.17 and have 2 ones more). The Update Status was set to 2 and both Cycle Count set to 0.

Then I prepared the golden fw following the procedure read in this forum:

    1. program the v0.17 into the device
    2. program the ChemID
    3. upload the prepared .gg file  & write it in memory
    4. export the .srec that became the new golden srec file.

Can you confirm the above is correct?

    Bye

  • Maurizio,

You're welcome. Yes, that is correct. Please make sure that you select the calibration section as well in case you have performed calibration on your device.
