BQ34Z100EVM: UNSEALED mode

Part Number: BQ34Z100EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQSTUDIO, , BQ34Z100-G1

I can't do any calibration, i did once, but pitifully it was wrong then i turned on again my BQ34z100EVM and it was in SEALED state, i don't remember to pu it a password, i tried to work in 2 diferentes version of BQStudio:

v1.3.80 Build ==>asks me a password.
v1.3.54.1       ==>don't ask me password but keep on SEALED mode.

How i could return back "factory mode" or UNSEAL state?
Thanks a lot.

  • Hi Kevin,

    Once the device is put into a sealed state, it cannot be permanently unsealed (it will seal automatically when reset) unless the device is reprogrammed with the default firmware.

    To put the device back into an permanently unsealed state:

    1. With the latest version of bqStudio, use the UNSEAL ALL ACCESS command with the default key (assuming you didn't change the keys, then use your key).
    2. Once unsealed, reprogram the bq34z100-G1 with the default SREC to put the device back into a permanently unsealed state.

    Please note: although the Advanced commands may be utilized, they key would need to be sent rapidly. The 'UNSEAL ALL ACCESS' button in the list of COMMAND buttons on the right side of bqStudio will enable you to send the commands rapidly.

    Sincerely,
    Bryan Kahler
