Hi folks,
I'm doing an automotive design for LED lighting and I was asked to replace the input reverse protection diode with a smart diode. We are trying to keep size down so I picked the LM74700. Is there a better device I should choose? I noticed it is in preview mode and I have never used these before so I'm not sure if there are considerations that I am missing.
I'm also wondering about EMI. Do you have suggestions on this? I was adding a CM choke at the same time so I put that first, then the smart diode, then the differential mode filter. But after thinking about it for a second it seems I would want to filter out the charge pump noise. Do you have recommendations? Should I be putting it as CM choke then differential filter then smart diode? Are there any considerations here like strange interactions if it is between the filter and the boost regulator I am using?
Thanks for any help you can give.
Regards,
Clint
