LM3435: About the reason for specifying ILED max

Part Number: LM3435

Hello Team,

What is the reason for specifying ILED max with "HIGH CURRENT REGULATORS" on page 10 of the datasheet?
I would like to know why it is specifying the lower limit of ILED max.

Is specified to realize I2C controllable STEP?

Best regards,
Kato

  • Hello Kato,

I'm guessing that the range is the maximum depending on operating conditions and is dependent on thermals. But I will forward this to somebody that knows this device a bit better. Could you clarify exactly what you are asking? I'm sorry, it isn't exactly clear to me. Thanks.

    Regards,

    Clint

  • Hi Kato-san,

The planned application with the device during design stage was requiring 0.5 A to 2.0 A.
The circuit works in CCM for the proprietary switching control scheme maintain fairly constant switching frequency as well.
Design team from that time believed that 0.5 A is a reasonable current to keep CCM if the max current to be used in the system goes up to 2.0 A.

I hope the above answered your question.
