BQ24190: BQ24190 Input Current

Dear TI Team.

I have a question about the input current setting of the BQ24190.

Input current on the data sheet of BQ24190 is indicated as H / W Max1.5A.

If H / W is set to 3A and the register setting is 2A, ask if there is a problem.

Is it possible to check for problems that may occur if 3A is set as H / W?

    Hi Chun,

    The 1.5A Input Current Limit shown in the Device Comparison Table the default ILIM value for the BQ24190. This value can be changed via I2C or the ILIM resistor value.

    The actual input current limit becomes the smaller of these two setting. In your case, H / W set to 3A and register set to 2A, the actual ILIM will be 2A.

    The maximum recommended input current for the BQ24190 is 3A so this should be fine.
