BQ27426: Can I have it report 100% at a different capacity?

Part Number: BQ27426

Hello, I have a battery that has a design voltage of 3700mV and a design capacity of 2400 mAh. It can be charged up to 4.2V and discharged down to 3V. I would like my battery to be only charged up to 4.1V. Can I have this chip report 100% at a capacity corresponding to 4.1V? Likewise, if I would like my battery to be discharged down to 3.1V, can I get this chip to report 0% at 3.1V? Also, would this change the way I should perform the process in determining the ChemID?

Thanks,

William

  • Hello William,

Yes, please run a learning cycle up to 4.2 V. Then follow it up with a cycle that only goes up to 4100 mV. Make sure to change V taper, I taper to reflect the 4100 mV termination. I would suggest using the default of 4000 mV for V taper and I taper will be corresponding to your charger and battery spec. Usually this is C/20.

    Thanks
