UCC28063: UCC28063 How can control GDB and GDA output

Part Number: UCC28063
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC28064

Dear ,

our clinet was Design UCC28063 as attacted,

we find have two question:

1. input vlotage 90v and  output full loading 450w , PHB < VPHBF  0.8V ,GDB output was close, why? It should turn off at mindle load?

2. input voltage 264v and output full loading 450w, PHB < VPHBF  0.8V, GDB output was close, but GDA have output voltage, why? it should turn off at full load at 264V?

what condition can control GDB and GDA output?

if any question, Please avdise me.

Thanks,

Best regards,

Lawrence.

  • Dear
    update schematic,
RP14 1K Change to NC , RP16 0 ohm with comp pin connection.

If any question, Please advise me.

    Thanks,

    Best regards,

    Lawrence.
  • Hello Lawrence,

The schematic shows that the COMP pin is connected to the PHB pin with a 1k resistor.
This means that the UCC28063 switches from interleaved operation (GDA and GDB) to single phase operation (GDA only ) when the COMP value drops below 0.8V
The value of COMP changes with line and load conditions. This means that for a fixed load condition the value of COMP will be higher at low line than at high line.
So the load condition where you switch from interleaved to single phase operation will be higher at high line than it is at low line.

You should consider using the UCC28064 which has a phase management feature that allows the transition point from dual phase to single phase to be at a fixed load.
It also has a burst mode for enhanced light load efficiency and line feedforward for improved line transient response.

    Regards

    John
